Sahel bölgesi, son on yıl içerisinde hem siyasi de ekonomik açıdan güvenlik sorununun belirginleştiği önemli bölgelerden birisi haline gelmiştir. bir yandan bölgesel ve bölge dışı güçlerin politikalarını etkileyen, diğer bu devletlerin terörizmle mücadele girişimlerini belirleyen coğrafya olarak ön plana çıkmıştır. Buna çalışmada, bölgesinde yaşanan terör saldırılarının nedenleri incelenmiş saldırıların neticesi bölgesinin koridoru geldiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Bununla beraber, çalışmada G5-Sahel Ortak Gücünün terörle politikalarının başarısız olduğu ileri sürülmektedir.
